RE: Eulogy to Socrates
Yes, as far as I know, he would not accept any other penalty, because he did not plead guilty. If he was not guilty, he did not have to be punished, even if it was a lesser penalty. Accepting guilt, for

RE: Why Marriage means freedom.
What I mean by economicism is the fact of reducing society simply to its economic aspect, forgetting all the other aspects such as cultural, religious, etc. Very similar to what is happening today. Perhaps

Here is a little bit more to add. It's like weakening the ten commandments by seeing them not as commandments but as recommendations, then as suggestions, then as possibilities and then as ideas. In the

I love long comments so don't worry about them. It weakens the ideal because it finds it profoundly foreign and unnecesary. I think this is because materialism. Do you link inexorably economicism with

I read something similar to this while researching the concept of catharsis or purification in Aristotle. Basically, if you identify with a character in a play, which is often the case, you can

Now I get it. And I agree. It also depends a lot on the cultural environment. I grew up in a somewhat secular environment and it was therefore rare for me to find a married couple. So I grew up as if that

Does that mean that one must be responsible for the feelings of others that we provoke? Sorry if I don't grasp it.

Yes, I completely agree with you here. What I mean by "detached" (maybe that was not the best word either), is that you feel good loving and don't need anything else. Whatever other desire arise

Hm. I think that I have not spoken about something to be able to control ones feelings. No, you're right, my mistake. But that's what came to my mind when you say that it frees yourself from jealously

The question remains "When is love real?" One must know when love is real because one feel that way, one feel deep care and tender affection towards another person. It's not the mind who is gonna

I do agree with you in many things. But I don't think one can control what one feels, not be free of feelings so easily. One can decide to make a vow and stick to it for life, that's under our control.

I'm not an expert on marriages, so maybe it is good to take that into consideration when reading my answer. There are things that I agree with and there are some others than I don't. I don't think marriage

Thanks. I wasn't sure about making the story on monarchs since there is a certain obligation to inherit the throne. So I'm glad you have picked up the part about freedom. Thank you for providing an

Hi, how are you doing? I have not been very active here lately. So much has changed, hasn't it? I see you've been showing your artistic side lately. That's good. Reading through older posts and comments

Yeah, I just thought it was best to stop for a moment. I'm not leaving right now, if that's what you mean. There's still a lot to be said for the future. I guess. Glad to see' you too. Cheers.

RE: What might've been - question mark?
I think there is a difference between doing right and wrong in the context of morality, and what is right as opposed to making a mistake. I think it's good to be good, but I also think it's not bad to
