Ma had left me a house. How could she have known? Our rent was long overdue and with John losing his job, we had been given an extended 2 weeks’ notice to either pay or vacate the apartment. My eyes brightened at this was a beacon of hope.
But the house is a dump and needs a total renovation. We were welcomed by cobwebs, broken windows and pillars that could barely hold the house.
Maybe I am exaggerating a little but this was not what I had in mind when the will was read
“Mum are we going to live here?” asked a bewildered Jason.
“Don’t worry son, your dad and I are just checking the house. Nothing has been decided.
John proceeds to enter one of the rooms and is stung by a few spiders
“Spiderman!”. Our son exclaims
But this spider man needs saving.
