En esta oportunidad, como no podía ser diferente, tocó la frase "2021, borrón y cuenta nueva" y, ¿Qué mejor que hacer la publicación el mismísimo 31 de Diciembre de 2020?

On this occasion, how could it be different, he touched the phrase "2021, Delete and Recount" and, what better way to publish it than on December 31, 2020?

Sé que este año 2020 ha sido muy difícil para todos debido a la pandemia, pero para mí fue particularmente difícil. En realidad, mi vida fue una montaña rusa que solo bajaba desde mediados de 2019, y en este momento estoy realmente motivado a comenzar de nuevo.

I know that this year 2020 has been very difficult for everyone due to the pandemic, but for me it was particularly difficult. Actually, my life was a roller coaster that only went down since mid-2019, and right now I am really motivated to start over.

Este último año y medio estuve en Colombia, con altos y bajos pero como ya mencioné, más bajos que altos. Pero todo cambió cuando en un momento tomé la decisión de regresar a mi país, Venezuela, y empezar de nuevo desde casa.

This last year and a half I was in Colombia, with ups and downs but as I already mentioned, more downs than ups. But everything changed when at one point I made the decision to return to my country, Venezuela, and start over from home.

El viaje fue duro, y me quedé sin dinero a mitad de camino y me tocó recorrer un tramo como mochilero, pero estaba dispuesto a todo para llegar a casa y poder hacer lo que dije que haría: empezar de nuevo.

The trip was hard, and I ran out of money halfway through and had to cover a stretch as a backpacker, but I was ready to do anything to get home and do what I said I would do: start over.

Me quedé varado en Cúcuta al llegar porque no había manera de cruzar la frontera ese mismo día, y por si se lo preguntan, sí, crucé por la trocha (caminos verdes ajenos a los pasos legales) porque los puentes estaban cerrados.

I got stranded in Cúcuta when I arrived because there was no way to cross the border that same day, and in case you're wondering, yes, I crossed the trail (green roads outside the legal steps) because the bridges were closed.

	Yo, super feliz de tener que quedarme en Cúcuta una noche y gastar dinero que no tenía.

Me, super happy to have to stay in Cúcuta one night and spend money that I didn't have.

Pero les comento, todo empezó a tener sentido al llegar a mi casa y poder ver de nuevo a mi mamá, a mi perrita, a mi mejor amiga y a mi sobrina, después de casi dos años sin verlas. Aunque a mi sobrina sí tenía más tiempo sin verla, ya que vive en otra ciudad.

But I tell you, everything started to make sense when I got to my house and was able to see my mother, my dog, my best friend and my niece again, after almost two years without seeing them. Although I did not see my niece for longer, since she lives in another city.

Entonces recientemente pensé, ¿Qué puedo hacer para representar simbólicamente este cierre de ciclo? ¿Cómo le muestro al mundo que quiero hacer "Borrón y cuenta nueva"? Y lo único que se me vino a mente en ese momento, fue cortarme el cabello. Que ya me lo había cortado bastante recientemente, en noviembre antes de empezar mi viaje, porque lo tenía bastante largo.

So recently I thought, what can I do to symbolically represent this cycle closing? How do I show the world that I want to do a "Delete and Recount"? And the only thing that came to mind at that moment was to cut my hair. That I had cut it quite recently, in November before starting my trip, because it was quite long.

Acá abajo les dejo dos fotos, de cómo tenía el cabello en Noviembre y cómo lo tenía cuando llegué a casa. Aunque ya han visto en las fotos anteriores lo segundo.

Entonces hoy, último día del año, dije: "Me rapo". Y lo hice. Claro, no me rapé completo, pero me quité bastante cabello jajajaja.

So today, the last day of the year, I said: "I'll shave." And I did it. Of course, I didn't shave completely, but I did remove quite a bit of hair hahaha.

Y este es mi nuevo corte de cabello, para hacer mi borrón y cuenta nueva y empezar de cero en este 2021. En mi país, en mi casa, con mi familia, y con mis amigos (Los que aún me quedan acá, ya que la gran mayoría también emigró a otras latitudes).

And this is my new haircut, to make my clean slate and start from scratch in 2021. In my country, at home, with my family, and with my friends (Those who still remain here, since the vast majority also emigrated to other latitudes).

Quiero finalizar con una pequeña reflexión que me ha dejado toda esta experiencia:

I want to finish with a little reflection that this whole experience has left me:

"Cuando transites por el camino deque lleva a tus sueños, disfruta de los desvíos, pues en ellos puedes conseguir cosas y personas maravillosas que jamás pensaste o soñaste encontrar.

"When you go down the road that leads to your dreams, enjoy the detours, because in them you can get wonderful things and people that you never thought or dreamed of finding.

A veces, lo que tiene mayor valor no es la meta en sí, sino lo que hiciste mientras tratabas de llegar.

Sometimes what is most valuable is not the goal itself, but what you did while trying to get there.

Ese es el aprendizaje que me deja este año viejo, esto es lo que tomaré en cuenta para mi futuro."

That is the learning that this old year leaves me, this is what I will take into account for my future."
