El día de hoy quiero compartirles mi participación para el concurso de arte semanal de @splinterlands . Para el dibujo de esta semana he decidido hacer al personaje TARSA. Al momento de elegir al personaje pensé que su historia iba a ser de superación y ese tipo de cosas, pero resultó ser muy diferente a lo que tenía en mente jaja, nunca me imaginé que era una niña rebelde que buscaba problemas a cualquier lugar que iba.

A pesar de que su historia era bastante diferente a lo que yo creía, eso no me detuvo y decidí hacer mi propia versión de este personaje. La primera idea que se me vino a la cabeza era que ella estuviera en un lugar específico, en unos escombros o algo así, no lo sé, y que estuviera acorralada, con una pose de acción y preparada para atacar. Al final esa idea no me convenció del todo, así que decidí hacer esta versión. Aquí vemos a una niña indefensa, que debido a varios problemas en su vida huyó al bosque, durante su paseo por el bosque descubrió que tenía un poder oculto, por lo que quise hacer una escena de ella paseando por un bosque descubriendo su gran poder y con la luz de la luna apareciendo tímidamente desde lejos.

Today I want to share with you my entry for the @splinterlands weekly art contest. For this week's drawing I decided to do the character TARSA. At the moment of choosing the character I thought that her story was going to be about overcoming and that kind of things, but it turned out to be very different from what I had in mind haha, I never imagined that she was a rebellious girl who was looking for trouble everywhere she went.

Even though her story was quite different from what I thought, that didn't stop me and I decided to make my own version of this character. The first idea that came to my mind was that she would be in a specific place, in some rubble or something, I don't know, and that she would be cornered, in an action pose and ready to attack. In the end that idea didn't quite convince me, so I decided to do this version. Here we see a defenceless girl, who due to several problems in her life ran away to the forest, during her walk through the forest she discovered that she had a hidden power, so I wanted to make a scene of her walking through a forest discovering her great power and with the moonlight appearing timidly from afar.

Una vez que tenía la idea en mente, procedí a realizar el boceto, para ello coloqué al personaje en el centro, ya que ella es el objetivo principal de esta ilustración y realicé muy suciamente la idea que tenía del fondo.

Una vez hecho el boceto comencé a aplicar los colores. En esta ocasión decidí usar colores fríos como los azules para el fondo y los cálidos como el naranja y el amarillo para darle contraste necesario para este dibujo. También algunos tonos verdes y rojos para complementar aún más los colores.

Once I had the idea in mind, I proceeded to make the sketch, for this I placed the character in the centre, since she is the main objective of this illustration and I made very dirty the idea I had of the background.

Once I made the sketch I started to apply the colours. This time I decided to use cold colours like blues for the background and warm colours like orange and yellow to give the necessary contrast for this drawing. Also some green and red tones to complement the colours even more.

Una vez que hice el estudio de color comencé a colorear la ilustración, para ello empecé por el fondo, específicamente del lado izquierdo. Poco a poco fui coloreando cada árbol, y añadiendo un poco más de detalles a esa zona, luego procedí a colorear el lado derecho de los árboles y también me tomé el tiempo de añadir algunas flores.

Posteriormente, coloreé la gran roca que está del lado izquierdo, fui combinado los tonos muy poco a poco y a medida que iba avanzando fui agregando un poco de vegetación, algunas plantas, hojas para darle más vida a esa zona. Una vez que culminé ese lado, procedí a colorear el otro, aquí repetí el mismo proceso que con el lado izquierdo, solo que esta vez también coloreé el césped. Colorear césped es algo que me encanta, ya que siempre es un reto para darle vida y que mantenga una armonía con el resto del dibujo, así que me tomé mi tiempo coloreándolo, fui mezclando los tonos oscuros y claros para darle la armonía deseada, y ese tono verde hace que resalte aún más. Por último, para terminar el fondo coloreé las rocas que están en la parte inferior derecha, fue más de lo mismo, así que no hay nada que explicar.

Once I made the colored one I began to color the illustration, for this I started with the background, specifically on the left side of the study. Little by little I colored each tree, and added a little more detail to that area, then I proceeded to color the right side of the trees and also took the time to add some flowers.

Afterwards, I coloured the big rock on the left side, I combined the tones little by little and as I progressed I added some vegetation, some plants, leaves to give more life to that area. Once I finished that side, I proceeded to colour the other side, here I repeated the same process as with the left side, only this time I also coloured the grass. Colouring grass is something I love, as it is always a challenge to bring it to life and keep it in harmony with the rest of the drawing, so I took my time colouring it, I mixed the dark and light tones to give it the desired harmony, and that green tone makes it stand out even more. Finally, to finish the background I coloured the rocks at the bottom right, it was more of the same, so there is nothing to explain.

Ya para finalizar, llegó la hora de colorear a la niña. Primero empecé por la parte inferior, coloreando los pies y la parte inferior del vestido. Aquí fui cuidadoso, ya que quería lograr los tonos adecuados de luces y sombras, no quería que algo quedara fuera de lugar. Después de colorear la parte de abajo, terminé de colorear la parte superior, coloreé el resto del vestido, la camisa, las manos, el rostro y el cabello. Debo admitir que me encantó colorear el cabello, sé que originalmente Tarsa no tiene el cabello así, pero me pareció una buena idea modificarlo un poco. Una vez que coloreé al personaje llegó la hora de colorear el fuego, también aproveché para añadir más iluminación en donde está el fuego, le agregué algunas partículas y unos brillos que parezcan puntitos de fuego esparcidos en el aire.

Finally it was time to colour the girl. First I started with the lower part, colouring the feet and the bottom of the dress. Here I was careful, as I wanted to achieve the right tones of light and shadow, I didn't want anything to be out of place. After colouring the bottom part, I finished colouring the top part, I coloured the rest of the dress, the shirt, the hands, the face and the hair. I must admit that I loved colouring the hair, I know that originally Tarsa doesn't have hair like that, but I thought it was a good idea to modify it a bit. Once I coloured the character it was time to colour the fire, I also took the opportunity to add more lighting where the fire is, I added some particles and some glows that look like fire dots scattered in the air.
