I absolutely love drawing with pencils, traditional, digital, it’s all the same for me.

There’s a familiar feeling of happiness I get inside when I’m in my element, gradually building up the lines and playing with the textures. It takes me back to my school days when I was brimming with passion but lacking in skill. Going digital has definitely given me reason to draw as much as I can, even when I’m low on art supplies.

Today’s drawing was sketched and then colored in my favorite colors. You may recognize it from my fox tales storytelling contest. Anyway, I’m always telling everyone that my favorite color is purple and I get a lot of shit for it because I’m always in black clothing. (What can I say- my daily fashion choices reflect my ever changing mood.) Besides the gradient shades of purple in the background and hair, I wanted to give her skin a translucent opal appearance. She’s also got a slight Junji Ito vibe since I’m a huge fan of his horror illustrations.
