Bronkhorst is the smallest city in Holland. To be a city you have to earn rights (in the middle ages) otherwise it's a village. Because Bronkhorst did receive those rights they may be called a city :)
In Bronkhorst there is a little ferry from which you can go to Brummen, at the other side of the river "De Ijssel". A lot of tourist by bike use the ferry to go along the river and to discover the great nature the province of Gelderland (where Bronkhorst resides) had to offer.
Bronkhorst consist of several small streets which a couple of houses, shops and a restaurant or two. Not much more then that, and that's exactly the reason a lot of tourist visit Bronkhorst. They want to see with their own eyes how the smalles city in The Netherlands looks like :).
There is this old direction sign with the nearest villlages and cities. The symbol on top is of the Dutch Automobilclub.
At the moment I visited Bronkhorst it was very quiet. there were no sounds of bicycles or cars. Just me, some birds and my camera.
Whenever you around be sure to visit Bronkhorst, it's a joy to see.
Have a great evening,
Peter
