I could have put a lot of different songs of Pink Floyd. They have made such a lot of great music. I've seen them live in Rotterdam in 1994, in the football stadium of Feyenoord. Awesome show, will never forget it.

Marillion was a great band, for me, when Fish was still their frontman. They made a lot of great songs and albums. Most people do know them of Kayleigh, their number one hit which is still on a lot of love albums :) .. Fish tried a solo career, has had a hit too (Gentlemen's excuse me). But after that, not many news from him anymore. The song Kayleigh he had written about his old love Kay Lee.

Eye in the sky, a song I already knew (my dad was a big fan of Alan Parsons), but when the performed at the worl liberty concert in Arnhem it got one of the most favorite songs of mine. The arrangement and harmonics are so cool. Love the song.

Rush - Tom Sawyer

This awesome song by Rush shows that music (a.k.a. good musicians) always survive the modern (sometimes) crap. Geddy Lee is a awesome bassplayer with a kind of conventional technique, but he rocks it...they all do.

Most people will know "Owner of a lonely heart" from Yes, but when you ask if they know any onther songs, often a silence will follow. One typical property of a lot of Symphonic bands is that there is a important place for the bassplayers. Often great basslines with certain effects on the bass. Also a lot of frettless basses are used.

Within Temptation - Ice Queen

It's not really Symphonic, although it has some Symphonic influences. Within Temptation is a Dutch band whom are famous all over the world. The combination of the metal sound with the classical singstyle of their front-woman has a great following all over the world.

The Gathering - Strange Machines live

A bit rocky too, The Gathering with their greatest hit Strange Machines. The Gathering were their time far ahead. Bands like Evanesence, Within Temptation and even Floor Janssen of Nightwhish are very much influenced by Anneke (vocalist The Gathering) and her music. This was also the first cover I ever learned to play with my first band. We only didn't had that great a singer ;)
