My son started a band and got a lot of cooperation in this at school. The teacher likes it so much that they get time for it themselves at school. That is what is motivation name :).
They have to arrange a performance for school and therefore also practice. I have arranged that they can rehearse in the rehearsal room where we also rehearse. Nice to see how those young people make music. A bit shy and insecure, but very nice to see.
I told them that I also started that way. Just play with a few friends in the rehearsal room. It did not all go equally well, but that is not necessary, it is primarily about pleasure. Then the rest will follow. We sometimes played a blues song and stayed in it for more than 20 minutes, just improvising and listening to each other.
I like to see that my youngest son enjoys making music so much. I think it is good for his development but also fun to do. He spends hours in his bedroom sorting out numbers and when he does not come out, he always comes to ask me if I know how something should or should not.
He also comes to me with music I have never heard of, so it is also very nice for me to get to know other music ..
