As we arrived at the reception, only few guests had arrive. Since we're one of the earlies guests, we had the chance to take photos in lot of actions! My creative nieces had this idea and doa Boomerang shoot. Here's the result.
Boomerang's shoot by my lovely nieces.
We were seated at one reserved table as we're considered VIP from the groom side. The tables were arranged nicely with water and refreshment on it.
Then at about 7.30 pm the party proceed with a word of welcome from the MC, followed by inviting the newlywed and their parents to come inside hall. The MC then announced that its dinner time and called a respected community leader, a lady to give prayer before dinner. The prayer was in Bidayuh language and we were like blur on what she was saying. Everybody do the Sign of Cross, then we do the same...LOL.
The dinner was a tasty one and in buffet style. There were about ten types of dishes served! I took all dishes and ended up filling so many food in my plate....LOL.. What? I'm hungry! Unfortunately, I forgot to take photo of my plate. 馃構馃構馃槈 The food was awesomely delicious.
After dinner, it was time for the bride and groom to cut the cake and do a toast to the audience in Bidayuh's style. Instead of saying Cheers! or Yam sing!, they said 'Taro taro taro!'.
The newlywed was invited to performed a romantic dance on stage followed by speech from the groom and bride, the bride's father emotional speech and the groom's father funny speech.
No one wants an empty dance floor at their reception. My nephew had hired a local band to entertain that night. As soon as guests finished their dinner, the band started to play a local famous song, and I was so surprised to see guests like possessed came to the dance floor and move their body to beat of the music!
Overall it was a fun night, by 1AM, I was dead tired. Some of the guests who still in the mood for party proceed to the bride's house for more Yamcha, Chit chat and Karaoke sessions. The next day, my nephew informed us that the party went on till 3.30AM. Wow! the people here really know how to party!
