Zero Acceleration
Once their vessel’s fuel is expended, our protagonist approaches a constant velocity, drifting through space. A long journey awaits them and the sense of danger has almost passed. Finally, after what seems like an eternity, they just might get a few moments rest.
This song consists solely of synthesizer voices with no real rhythm track. There is a wandering percussive synth voice in the background that keeps somewhat of a sense of a rhythm. The attack and release on some of the voices is very long causing dissonance between chord and tonal changes that resolves unexpectedly. The piece is meant to be soothing yet still a bit chaotic, kind of like the first sleep you get after an acid trip.
