Prelude
Hello everybody, hope that the new year had been well so far for everyone. It's time again to do a battle sharing. Today, I am going to share on a card that often appear in my water splinter lineup, Nerissa Tridawn. Let's get right into it.
Thoughts on Nerissa Tridawn
Looking like the queen of the seas, holding a trident, this card is no laughing matter, when facing it, is something that is not easily taken down.
Without further a do, let's get started with this week's sharing.
Let's look at the Level 1 base stats for Nerissa Tridawn:
| Mana | Attack | Health | Speed | Armour | Ability |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 | 3 (Magic) | 9 | 2 | NA | NA |
|
Bronze League - Health + 1
Silver League - Speed + 1
Gold League - Attack + 1, Health + 1
Beyond Gold - Attack + 1
What does Nerissa looking on growth?
This is an ability-less card throughout growth. Even without abilities, stats wise, looking real meaty with high health and very damaging with up to 5 magic damage.
Keep this monster alive as long as you can and she will devastate your opponent's lineup easily. If we look how most cards in terms of health, most utility fodder cards are no match for her. Imagine in a matchup that there is snipe ruleset, she can easily smash anything easily into the backline and take them out.
In terms of speed, is relatively moderate but with her high health, she should be able to last for a couple of rounds into the game to do her part.
Alritey, let's see start the battle sharing.

Opponent Lineup
Prediction before pressing rumble
Very similar setup with 4 cards identical not including summoner. My opponent used Nerissa too! Should be a nice match, I opted for more damage while my opponent opt to divert damage towards Wave Brood.
Let's get ready to rumble
Round 1, Interesting first round, while my Diemonshark took quite a bit of punishment, it survived while Wave Brood was killed by a barrage of attacks with Nerissa landing the kill.
Round 2, A fierce round of barrage once again. Both Diemonsharks fell. However mine resurrected once through River Hellondale but fell to my opponent's Nerrisa.
Round 3, Majority of the things on the board still remained other than the fallen Flying Squid on my opponent side.
Round 4, This round, with Nerrisa landing the fatal blow, opponent's Djinn Oshannus was taken out while my River Hellondale whom did a great resurrection also fell.
Round 5-6, My lineup easily disposed off the last 2 monsters on my opponent side and secured the victory, with Nerissa doing much work to wane down the health of opponent's Nerissa.
After Thoughts
I have to say, this is a nice match. Wave Brood that my opponent chose was a good choice as well but against a heavy artillery, it is too much to handle.
Nerissa took out a couple of cards on my opponent's end. If we look at the health on my opponent side, it is mainly high health ones and without sufficient fire power, it is very difficult to bring them down and win the match. And this is where Nerissa shines, 3 magic damage is really awesome and the only other water splinter card that has this kind of damage is Phantom of the Abyss.
Did my strategy work in this game? At a higher mana match, bigger fire power is definitely needed as most high mana cards have big health stats. So the place of Nerissa in my lineup was very much staple.
Will I be using such a lineup in the future? Yes I will. Nerissa is one important element in such a lineup to ensure while we can have good tanks to hold the line, the backline needs to have sufficient firepower to outmuscle my opponents.
Nerissa Tridawn, a heavy duty damage dealer. Might not fit into small mana matches due to her big mana cost, however in the past I did attempt to use her to win critter decks by putting cards in front of her to protect her while she take down my opponent deck one by one in a 18-25 mana kind of match up. But in high mana match up, she becomes staple due to her big damage.
At level 1, she is already a menace. When at growth, her damage becomes bigger and bigger. For new players, I recommend to rent out a copy try, might not be as frequently used in bronze league but at silver league, there will be more opportunities that require her services. For seasoned players, unless you are trying to get a copy of Phantom of the Abyss for Wild or Rumenancer Kye for modern, where both are rather costly, why not give Nerissa some thought, low cost with a big damage.
