Just bought my Raspberry PI 3 v2. Followed these simple steps setup provided by the glourios EGEM crew. https://git.egem.io/team/egem-quarrysetup
You can also use a VPS for this if you dont have a PI.
The node helps the network do transactions, and there is now 203 active nodes and counting.
