I have captured the automibiles you would notice in lagos traffic adjusting my camera settings to capture each vehicle in its essence and according to its charcteristics.
Luxury Sedans- glide through the congestion with an air of confidence and grace. These polished machines, often black or silver, weave between lanes with precision, their drivers navigating the maze with practiced ease. Their sleek designs contrast sharply with the surrounding cacophony, a visual reminder of affluence amid the urban clamor.
Danfo Buses, the quintessential symbol of Lagos public transport, paint the streets in a vivid yellow. Their driving patterns are a dance of daring and defiance; they lurch and sway as they pick up and drop off passengers with an almost theatrical flair. The clamor of their horns and the sight of passengers hanging out of open doors add to the vibrant tapestry of the city's traffic.
Okadas (motorcycle ) dart through the gaps with the agility of insects. These two-wheeled conveyances zigzag through the traffic, their riders adept at maneuvering around stationary and slow-moving vehicles. Their presence adds a kinetic energy to the street, a blur of helmets and bright vests that frequently punctuates the otherwise steady flow.

Private Cars, from modest hatchbacks to robust SUVs, create a diverse mosaic of personal mobility. Their drivers exhibit a range of behaviors from cautious to assertive, reflecting varying levels of experience and temperament. In the slow crawl of traffic, these vehicles often become islands of solitude, where drivers sit in quiet frustration or engage in spontaneous conversations through rolled-down windows.
Lorry Trucks and Heavy Goods Vehicles dominate the streets with their imposing size. Their slow progress and wide turns are a stark contrast to the nimble movements of smaller vehicles. They move deliberately, their drivers navigating the dense web of traffic with careful consideration. These add a grounded and slow rhythm to the city's relentless upbeat tense.
Through the lens, Lagos traffic reveals itself as a dynamic, ever-changing portrait of urban life. The interplay between these various types of vehicles—each with its own driving style and purpose—creates a vivid, pulsating narrative that captures the essence of a city perpetually in motion.
