Gone are the days when you could just hop on a plane and go where the mood struck.

Covid19 came along and threw a spanner in the works.

Now, when you're getting on a plane you have to sit in the exact seat allocated.. no moving around.. because if you move around and someone 5 seats back tests positive.. then they wouldnt be able to find you.. so sit down and just be happy that you are getting to go somewhere :)

You have to wear a facemask throughout the entire flight.. facemasks will stop you catching or transmitting Covid19 so do not remove it under ANY circumstances.

Unless of course... you intend on ordering food or drinks..

If you find yourself a little peckish or have a thirst that needs quenching.. And you are willing to pay the prices... Then a facemask is no longer required.

On a Ryanair flight it appears to be almost the norm for one to make a small pack of Pringles last an entire flight so that the consumer is not required to don PPE at all.

All that being said, somethings haven't changed.

The miniature bottles of spirits still cost a fortune but make the lack of legroom a little more bearable

The CovidPass checks are new.. but operate like Australian RBT's whereby they will just pull a certain amount of people over for document checks and everybody else is free to go.

And finally...

Covid19 doesn't deserve all of the travelling spotlight.

Let's not forget that, during this global pandemic. Britain also decided to follow through with Brexit!

And therefore.. we are no longer allowed to stand in the EU Passport line :(

Apart from all of that.. I have arrived safely into Helsinki and am crazy excited for the week of exploration and Christmas Markets ahead..

Even if it is -14C :)
