After Lake Tahoe we stopped in Carson City, Nevada to check out some historical sites. From there we took 395 down to 108 and Sonora Pass to go through the Sierra Nevada range and Stanislaus National Forest.

The pass reaches an elevation of 9,624 ft. There was a nice cool breeze and temperatures were in the 60's at the higher elevations which was really nice. There were also tons of boondocking spots and dirt roads right off 108. As you traveled further along 108 some of the spots were blocked off due to wildfires in the area. Definitely somewhere I would consider camping at in the future. The downside is it's a lot of wear on the brakes getting through there.
