Haven't yet watched the video and interview, but I am absolutely certain the Committee of 300 is engineering a catastrophic economic collapse via the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and sabotage of refineries and other production facilities around the world. This means they do expect a cataclysm, whether or not something else bad happens.
