I do appreciate your feelings regarding the surveillance of votes in governance, but must again point out that Hive is not Steem. In all the comparisons, analogies, and metaphors you employ to illustrate your reasoning you do not make this distinction. Bernie or Trump would rule America. This is a geographic region in which people live.

No matter what they call it, that is what they would rule. Calling it socialism or crony capitalism doesn't change it's geographic boundaries, it's resources, or population one bit.

Hive is a completely new thing. It does not have the same population, resources, or territory as Steem.

In your above analogy with the USA, it would be comparable to a Mars colony. If Bernie was elected Emperor of Mars, none of his rules or examinations of votes would affect Earth, and that is the situation with Hive. Nothing Hive does affects Steem.

Nobody took anything from anyone to make Hive. Would you say that if people fled Trump with nothing - not even clothing, naked as they were born - to live on Mars, that they stole Trump's assets when they did? That is an accurate analogy, because Hive is not Steem, and all Steem assets and resources remain completely and wholly Steem's.

The exclusion from the airdrop is like not providing clothing, a home, or other Martian resources to Trump or Bernie, or those that supported them, upon their arrival on Mars, knowing they had sought to enslave us on Earth and would do so on Mars.

I must add that what you fear this exclusion might cause to happen in the future is already the status quo on Hive, and always has been on Steem.

There are currently ~a dozen stakeholders with ~45% of the stake on Hive. These parties also possess an unknown amount of stake in other accounts. They currently exercise as a group complete and total control of governance on Hive, and ever since @ned withdrew the founders stake from exercising governance on Steem, they totally controlled governance there.

Hive is not decentralized at all. Those stakehodlers mined their stakes just like @ned did. ALL STEEM WAS MINED, and the only Steem that was not mined was that created in the rewards pool by inflating the mined Steem. Since Hive is just a reproduction of Steem, Hive was mined the same way.

Exactly the 51% attack that seized control of Steem from the oligarchy @ned allowed to control Steem remains potential to seize Hive. I have called for the devs, witnesses, and stakehodlers of Hive to add an additional metric(s) to raw stake in the mechanism of governance, and been flagged for my trouble.

It is necessary to grasp the difference between rhetoric and action to ascertain reality in politics. Hive is currently a vector for whales to profit economically, and all the other aspects of it are secondary to that purpose. That isn't cast in stone, and it can be changed, but that will require the extant oligarchs to change it, and that is counter to their understanding of their economic interests.

Leaving the status quo intact is not actually beneficial to their economic interests however, and the present existential threat to society reveals that Hive can become what the rhetoric has always represented it to be because humanity needs free speech to survive the present pandemic and global totalitarian takeover.

We'll see if normalcy bias prevents that, or if the visionary potential of Hive actually eventuates.
