I have seen statistical reports on fields of employment. Nurses, for example, are overwhelmingly women, as are teachers and child care workers. I have rarely met women plumbers, carpenters, or heavy equipment operators, and I have never met a woman logger. Have you had a look at the different fields women and men tend to concentrate in, why they do, and the pay in those fields?
Perhaps it isn't employers or anything nefarious about not paying the sexes equally for the same work, but the fact that women do different work than men, and that work pays less?
Thanks!
