I certainly hope actual open source AI prevails. It should. It isn't hampered by being programmed to be malevolent, and that should give it a significant edge. Just like the huge advantage open source manufacturing has, when our appliances have been infested with expensive cameras and microphone modules to spy on us, and preprogrammed to fail the day after the warranty is up. Making our own is vastly more productive than buying mass produced crap,especially when the entire edifice of totalitarianism depends utterly on mass production and centralization, full of waste and stamped with surveillance, all of which cuts the overlords in, degrades performance, and costs ~10x more money. Making our own cuts them out.

When we make our stuff, we get better stuff, we cut waste, we get to keep all it's value, and our enemies get nothing.
