Since I injured my back in the 90s I learned something about the medical professions. Doctors have oversight boards, literal political committees, like soviets, that have to approve their actions. Two doctors that prescribed medications I needed did so despite doing so costing them their jobs, maybe even their careers. Over time, these boards have weeded out such doctors that will buck the system. I just got a letter from such a board letting me know my doctor will not be prescribing me a medication I need, because they won't let them.
