I tried the Jan 6 search on Presearch. Exactly the same thing as Goolag. It's hard to accept my disappointment, as the CEO of Presearch, Colin Pape, posts a weekly AMA and really seems very sincere in his statements that Presearch is intended to counter propaganda, prevent censorship, and deliver actual search.

When these kind of things catch me out, I realize I've been holding my breath, hoping for miracles, and it's the crushed hope that hurts my heart most. Then I gird my loins and go back to what hasn't ever disappointed me: fixing things for my neighbors. It's a simple program, and only I can betray me, which isn't a problem. Things can go wrong, clients can go mad, or have issues that derail the work, but those are all able to be taken in stride, and the program itself, of providing services to my neighbors, goes on without alteration.

It's quite comforting to have such a solid basis for hope that will not be crushed. I am pretty bad at not falling into hope, so having something I can hope reliably about really keeps me from the mental anguish of being disappointed.

I hope you're far better at avoiding disappointment than am I.
