There is a thin veneer of civilization papered over American society. People will be shocked at their vulnerability to armed gangs and thugs very soon. Thankfully, Americans are armed, and can handle their business better than most when SHTF. This is much less true in the cities, and there's going to be insanity in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, etc...
