The report of immune system damage is not new. On Feb. 15, 2020 The Lancet published research that indicated white blood cells were reduced in study subjects (the first 41 patients treated in Wuhan).

"The blood counts of patients on admission showed leucopenia (white blood cell count less than 4 × 109/L; ten [25%] of 40 patients) and lymphopenia (lymphocyte count <1·0 × 109/L; 26 [63%] patients; table 2)."

Sadly, the reports seem to indicate that SARS2 does cause AIDS.
