"If there were equal amounts of kids in foster care and under parental care then eighty percent of children in parental care would be harmed..."
This is false. It reveals you do not understand what the numbers actually say. Stating that 80 percent of harm comes from parents is not stating that 80% of children cared for by their parents are harmed by them. That's two completely different statements. Here's the facts:
US Census shows that in 2010 there were 74 million children in the US. If your claim that 80% of them were abused by their parents was correct, then almost 60 million children would have been abused in 2010 in the USA. That did not happen.
Please take the time to understand how the total number of children relates to the percentage of children harmed, or fail to grasp the reality of the actual danger to children they suffer. The number of children in foster care is a tiny fraction of the number of children living with their parents, and the number of children abused in foster care is ten times the number of children abused by an equal number of parents. Had those 74 million children been all in foster care in 2010 the rate of abuse of children in foster care would have produced around 15 million abused children, and this is vastly higher than the number of children abused in 2010.
Understanding what the numbers mean is critical to preventing children from being harmed, and because you do not understand what the numbers mean you are advocating for ten times more abuse of children than is happening. I am completely confident you do not want to help child abusers harm children, but because you do not understand that ten times more children are harmed by CPS than their parents, it is exactly what you are doing. Please take the time necessary to understand what the numbers mean.
