These seem such simple things, yet profound in their implications to the lives of the professants.

Surely we all can relate upon some self reflection. I know I endured a bitter marriage for many years for many bad reasons. Contrary to popular culture, the wounds of that mistake did not make me stronger, but left me shriveled and incapacitated spiritually and emotionally. It's possible to claim that strengthened my resistance to relationships with toxic people, but since people are inherently toxic and I am no Superman the resultant Fortress of Solitude is no refuge.
