I find few people give much shrift to their limitations, which reduces the validity of their opinions proportionally to their vanity. Kudos!

I would like to point out that you are not a military historian, and while you are not incorrect in your assessment of the comparative power of the weapons of dedicated military forces and civilian arms, in fact never in history has a professional military force defeated a rag tag guerrilla force. The reasons for this are complex, inobvious, and very counterintuitive, but if you but briefly consider Afghanistan, Vietnam, and other such conflicts as you may have some familiarity, you will note that this is indeed what has happened in those conflicts.

In brief, the professional military force may have aircraft carriers, nukes, and such WMDs, but it is grossly inefficient to deploy such weapons against a dozen insurgents. Small groups of insurgents are thus not often countered with the incredibly potent weapons possessed by professional militaries, and bureaucratic and logistical factors strongly favor informal and lither insurgencies.

This means that for a occupying professional military intent on ruling a population, a dedicated insurgency is impossible to overcome.

Sadly, however, if such an occupying force is not concerned with ruling a population, but is perfectly willing to genocide those people, that historical record no longer applies. If the USG is willing to nuke Richmond and slaughter millions of civilians to eradicate a few hundreds or thousands of militia there, the USG will quickly prevail over insurgents, leaving scorched Earth in the wake of the conflict.

I used to have great confidence that the ruling class had no interest, and indeed, was completely opposed, to such genocide, because their wealth and power derived from the productive work of the civilian population. However, automation and decentralized means of production have changed that equation. With appropriate development, the ruling class can deploy such decentralized means of production themselves, and dispense with the masses of workers they have traditionally required to produce their quality of life.

While this returns us to your bleak despair and anxiety you express in this post, there is yet another mitigating factor to consider, and that is the inability of the ruling class to deploy WMDs themselves, and the necessity of relying on a professional military to undertake genocide. While generally professional militaries can be counted on to commit genocide, as we can observe from many historical records of such happening, in the West today populations have been horribly affected by endocrine disrupting chemicals. Testosterone in Western men has been reduced by more than 60% since 1973, and the impact is highest where industrial development and economic activity is highest. Countries like the USA and Switzerland, which largely escaped the most severe industrial and economic damage the World Wars of the 20th Century, evince the most severe chemical castration of their men.

Professional militaries are largely composed of men, and despite the recent move by the US to include women in the military, this remains true of the US military today. Additionally, women in the military are generally highly likely to find the chemical castration of the men in the force objectionable, although perhaps not to the degree the men do.

This information, while not secret, is generally not widely understood and despite the extremity of the medical harm caused, there is no public health emergency declared, there are no massive remediation efforts ongoing, and in fact government and media, instead of seeking to educate the populations and direct them to protect themselves from the damage to their health, is promoting sexual diversity, homosexuality, and acceptance of the very changes to human behaviour such hormonal changes cause.

By and large, the soldiers in the military do not understand that they have been strongly impacted by endocrine disruption, and their sexual health ravaged by pseudoestrogens. I note that the problem of the chemical 'pollution' is hand waved away as unintentional, accidental, and ascribed to stupidity rather than malice, but when the media and public policy propaganda and promotion of sexual behavioural change is considered in concert with the extraordinary reproductive harm being effected, that is impossible to believe.

Were such impact the result of stupidity, such as the epidemic of cancers caused by chemical pollution, or nuclear fallout and waste, we see that media and government do sound the alarm and act to mitigate and prevent further damage. When we examine the chemical castration of men in the West today, we see that the opposite is done. The public is being soothed to accept this medical alteration, and government is promoting the behavioural change that chemical alteration causes.

Soldiers, when they do learn this, will not be happy. When faced with genociding their countrymen for the ruling class that is actively chemically castrating them, I do not think they will.

I believe that meticulously documenting the mechanisms and vectors this ongoing existential alteration of human sexual health is effected by, demonstrating that the professional military forces are being equally - if not more - impacted by it as ordinary civilians, and revealing that it is not accidental, and is being undertaken deliberately by the ruling class to genocide the population so that they can enjoy the wealth of the Earth without sharing it, the insurgency and the professional military will not be opposed to one another.

They will all be united against the psychopathic criminals that seek to kill them all instead.

You may need to do some research to verify these matters to your satisfaction. It is critical to be prepared to appropriately recognize and compensate for propaganda and disinformation that is being prosecuted as a major aspect of this ongoing operation while you do. I am certain of these facts, and of your competence to do that research and parse the results of your findings. I bid you godspeed, and every success in learning and applying facts going forward.

Finally, from the first living cell that arose on Earth, to you, I, and every other extant living creature today, an unbroken chain of life; one immortal organism that has diversified into the glorious tapestry of ecology we observe today, is the reality in which we exist. I am confident that, in the fullness of time, good faith and good company will result in eternal joy and felicity of not only our posterity, no matter how dire circumstances seem presently, but that our persons will also be invited and able to commune with that future happy society in the infinite expanse of the limitless universe. While I see reasonable basis for expecting this from current technologies, social mechanisms, and the verdancy of life itself, frankly I just have a gut feeling that this is what will happen.

The prophets of ancient days predict it. Scientific progress amazingly seems to support it. I believe it. You may also. If it is to be so, then in some happy future day, we will finally get a chance to meet in person, when pain and suffering has been left in barbaric history, and our good company can bring us sincere and unmitigated joy.
