I had not realized Thailand had such immense plains. I deeply appreciate your exposition of your beautiful country. I also am blessed by your reflections and discussion of the mechanisms whereby corruption is sinking it's insidious roots deep into Thailand's commercial and civil infrastructure. I note the similarity of such processes everywhere I have learned of them. Good people doing honest day's work are always dispossessed and replaced with gaming, idlers, and brutal thugs. Orderly and well kept homes are replaced with filthy tenements and armed camps, and pleasant gardens with open sewers, libraries and markets with brothels, bars, and breadlines.

An interesting feature of monarchies is that king's have a proprietary interest in their government, their country, and their people. The corruption of their ministers is stealing from the monarch, not some temporary elected officials whose grasping rapine is accompanied by pandering to electorates, but a king whose walls are undermined by such crimes and who have great incentive to guard against being deposed and their inheritance lost to their posterity. You pointed out Rama IX had invested in the future growth of communities by preparing water reservoirs, and surely the current monarch has cause to ensure his ministers don't sell Thailand to China and replace the royal family with corporate scammers.

I hope the happiness of your people is the armor of your king, and it is well polished, shining in the sun like the beauty of the smiles of your children.

Thanks!
