That is very apparent when climate is studied by anyone with any competence. Several of the videos posted by @lighteye discuss Milankovitch cycles, and show that insolation is the critical foundation of Earth's climate.

I would rather be in pain, even terminal pain, than chipped.

As always, I appreciate the links to useful sources of information, not suitable for the intellectually lazy.
