max out curation rewards by upvoting only things that get big upvotes
This is why I advocate for eliminating curation rewards. A long time ago Edicted laid out how high interest saving accounts could replace curation rewards and provide folks with significant stake reliable ROI without having to chase content. I was giddily enthusiastic, because replacing subjective valuation of content with financial incentive created the crappiest trending page on the media market, and this sounded like a win/win for prudent investors and the Hive marketing department (which is good authors happy they posted on Hive). We got the high interest savings accounts - but kept the curation rewards wrecking our marketing department.
Misaligned incentives, particularly financial incentives, are hard to overcome.
Edit: I got so excited about the chance to reply to that point that I replied before reading the entire comment. My bad.
"Most people do not like doing math or building theoretical models or even investing. But I have a lot of HP so it’s easier to get people excited about."
It's hard to chew all that irony down.
"Now it’s like my favorite thing to do on HIVE."
Awesome! It's really fulfilling to be useful to good folks. You just about made my day.
