I do understand consciousness in that way.

Another aspect of Levin's research involved studying cancer. He showed that cancer cells become disconnected from the intercellular bioelectrical communications network. This precipitates their rapid proliferation, because they are not participating in that communal agreement to create a body according to the physiological plan connected cells each and all act to make. When he interfered with communications of cells undergoing cancerous proliferation he was able to restore their connection to that network, and their proliferation ceased. They weren't 'cured' of their cancer, but they no longer were outside the network that agreed on the physiological plan the network worked to achieve, so they no longer acted contrary to that plan.
