I completely agree, as we are a social species, and isolating from our community breaks a great many functions we are designed to effect and depend on for our quality of life. We can consider that we are comprised of cells. In the event of a pathogen affecting us negatively, what we call a disease, isolating each of our individual cells would indeed prevent the pathogen from infecting them.

But we'd be dead.

Our bodies cannot exist as racks of isolated cells on petri dishes. Our cells needs must coalesce into tissues and organs, which themselves must organize within our corpus to form our entire body. Even that isn't the end of the matter, as our bodies must also be within an ecosystem from which we derive essential food, water, and air, and must include a community of other people with whom we interact socially, and at least occasionally breed.

We aren't disembodied spirits, but our persons are linked to our bodies, which are inextricably linked to our communities and the ecosystems which have evolved from some primordial progenitor. Our interactions with one another are increasingly moderated technologically, but this does not replace the essential biological interactions that are an aspect of our healthy lives, indeed, our primary function - the meaning of life, itself.

Theories regarding our DNA deriving from viruses reveal the immensity of our nescience about our evolution, the nature of terrestrial life and ecosystems, and the absurdity of totalitarianism and political absolutism, so characterized with error and misconception as a result of our insufficient scientific understanding, even before we note the deliberate lies and misinformation regarding just society. As a result of our indoctrination from birth we are greatly misled to misunderstand our selves and communities and the meaning and basis for life, as a means of securing the wealth and power of our overlords who institute such education and the polities that seek to rule us.

It is necessary for us to maintain our natural lives in close association with one another and all life, and insofar as the desire of overlords to treat us as income producing resources is incompatible with our own success and quality of life must be countered. As such attempts to profit from us interfere with our own purposes, we are compelled to counter them, and we can see in history a continuous litany of revolution and war that has resulted from continuous insuperable oppression imposed by overlords corrected by such communities that have survived.

What we don't see is those communities that did not nominally correct such oppression and perished, rather than revolted and maintained functional societies. They have been exterminated, and leave no fossil or historical record.

We are led to think that science has arrived at supreme and complete understanding, but the reality is conveyed by your point that the influence of viruses on our DNA is only today beginning to be noticed at all, and certainly hasn't been completely or even partially understood well. The errors made by overlords to increase their profit from our lives again require correction, and anyone capable of reason will today be ensuring they have the solitary ability to maintain critical association and means of living, while preparing to correct our polities into forms that can be tolerated at least, and hopefully will promote nominal quality of life for people living in them.

I often wax prosaic regarding the advance of technology of late that enables people to create the goods and services that create the blessings of civilization themselves, individually, rather than requiring us to participate in collective industrial manufacturing, and the economic fact of productivity being maximized by the most advanced technology recommends adoption of modern technology as widely as possible.

Since overlords are obligate parasites economically, and decentralization of the means of production, that is the cutting edge of technological advance in every field of industry today, eliminates parasitic losses, we are quite apparently on the cusp of a transformation of society to something far more egalitarian than most profits parasitic overlords. Relative freedom, at least, burgeons, and absolute freedom beckons from the vastness of space, where lay inestimable resources competent people can develop to create inconceivable wealth beyond any ability of overlords to conquer or control.

We face a bit of a hard road to get there, but unimaginable felicity seems inevitable once we ride out this ongoing political disruption. I look forward to happy days to come, and hope to look back on these present difficulties with appreciation for that greater quality of life we then possess.
