Great to get a refresher, as with re-reading classic literature, you always learn something you hadn't understood before. I haz kwestions...
"...when you powerdown convert those VESTS back into Hive..."
I've never powered down, ever (I was hacked once and the hacker began a powerdown, but SG123 and Ausbitbank enabled me to stop it before the first cycle had completed). Does this mean that I have a pile of vests that remain 'not Hive' that would suddenly inure to my account if I did? Does my HP reflect these vests for VP purposes, or do I severely undervote because these vests aren't HP because they're not Hive? Not clear on what this actually means, obv.
"10% Decentralized
@hive.fund"
HBD seems to be being extracted from the DHF faster than it's being added to it, by the stabilizer, ValuePlan, and etc. I vaguely recall the DHF used to be >$26M, and is now ~$20M (not even trying to report accurate numbers, but simply indicating the trend). If that rate of depletion is relevant, particularly if understated, the DHF will be <$10M, possibly nothing (except the 10% inflow), and the Founder's stake will have been redistributed to the other OG miners, for the most part, who seem to be well acquainted with exchanges and how to supply Hive to the markets.
It occurs to me that this generously provides downwards pressure on token price, which handsomely adds to inflationary pressures, and will exacerbate the reduced supply of tokens by reducing the value of those tokens, creating a double whammy and substantially increasing the insignificance of the token and the market cap in a decade or so.
"...a little yield (~3%) to accounts that delegate..."
How does the 15% yield on HP lose 80% of it's effect on delegated stake?
"65% Reward Pool
"32.5% Discussion Rewards
"32.5% Curation Rewards"
Discussion rewards are Author rewards + the greatly reduced rewards comments generate?
Any clarity you can lend my understanding will be greatly appreciated, at least until I have to sleep and am blessed by the brand new world that Alzheimer's avails me more and more every day when I awake. We think of senescence as a continuous process, but through the magic of dementia, it's beneficiaries enjoy it as the sudden experience of a novel instance upon each awakening. Indeed, I have met folks that seem to continuously reboot during their waking hours and every moment seems to be fresh and new, without any baggage of recollection to restrain their enjoyment of the novelty of reality.
Thanks!
