Very good points. It is deeply troubling that in many ways the NAP has been completely obviated by totalitarian government, particularly through things like property tax, which deprives humanity of the right to own real property. Owning property becomes a privilege for those that pay property tax to be granted title the government will enforce, and not seize your property from you for non-payment.
Taxation is very much theft, and property tax is literally theft of the right to own property. In practical terms, there is no property right anywhere there is property tax. Such fundamental rights have long been eroded and eliminated, and most people have no idea, having been indoctrinated to go along with such oppressions from their earliest youth. Having been reduced to utter and absolute penury, literally wearing borrowed socks, I was unable to fail to grasp this fact some years ago.
Free people have to very carefully reckon such matters when considering how best to live in the world we are in. In fields such as medicine where care is provided as a dole by government, we can observe that Canada has taken things to such extreme that recently a Canadian doctor publicly stated they had euthanized a person incompetent to decide for themselves to end their life.
Canadians literally have now been deprived of the right to life through the gradual encroachment of government via the mechanism of 'free health care'. There are a wide variety of situations in which similar encroachments are ongoing, in addition to certain areas where things like the draft, for example, absolutely enslave and arbitrarily kill free people by afflicting them with forced military service.
It has taken me decades to realize how totalitarian and oppressive 'the state' inherently is, here in the land of the fee, and the home of the slave. Last year Oregon passed a law that ostensibly eliminates the exception in the Oregon Constitution to the ban on slavery for criminal convictions, which seems on it's face to be a great and noble step in the right direction.
However, given property taxes, income taxes, carbon taxes, and on and on, in fact the Prison Industrial Complex is unaffected, and no actual relief from enslavement by government is availed people in the jurisdiction of Oregon.
The fact that criminals are violating our inherent rights every single day does not compel free people to act in any given way, and the utterly foolish course of violently attacking superior military forces particularly will inevitably exacerbate the negative impacts and harm free people suffer, in Oregon, and everywhere else in the world AFAIK.
What to do to best secure inherent rights and the lawful acts and property inuring to free people becomes very difficult to parse, because it is clearly not only the right of free people to defend their rights and property, but their duty to do so. Given the technocratic totalitarian tyranny ubiquitous on Earth today, how free people secure their rights and property obviously must involve secrecy and disinformation, and the permutations of actions that are lawful in such circumstances become extremely complicated, and are not straightforward or forthright at all.
I appreciate you bringing this topic up, because it has given me a reminder regarding these complex and highly obfuscated issues that deeply challenge my limited intellectual capacity to parse them and chart my course in our world.
Thanks!
