I think it's good to keep in mind that security drones and defenses won't be sold at Walmart. The overlords disrupting civil society don't want you to be able to defend yourself from their thugs, so if folks want security (and they'll want it to survive) they'll have to make it. With 3D printers, inkjets printing circuits, and AI used to automate and design products, folks that can source materials will merit their security, or they'll end up with what security the military provides detainees.

There'll be a lot of folks displaced or fleeing conflict, that didn't secure their communities, and our benevolent overlords have a plan to deal with them. Seems better to have a place you can defend to me.
