When we select offspring to breed we replace natural forces, and we can direct evolutionary direction over multiple generations with intent such that we can speciate rapidly (relatively speaking). CRISPR makes this obsolete, and we are not limited to CAS9 CRISPR, because we recently have discovered thousands of CAS mechanisms in myriad species of bacteria that enables a currently unknown array of specific mechanisms by which DNA can be engineered. It is nifty that known CRISPR CAS9 mechanism are table top tech, that anyone with inexpensive tools can undertake at home.

Let's show things like the morphic field, or that Earth's magnetic field affects evolution, that these actually exist before we get exercised about them. Consciousness seems not to be something we can detect directly by any means known presently, so consciousness isn't based on cells or physical forces as far as we can tell.
