"...i am really betting on crypto."
I've made my assessment of the security of BTC very clear, so I won't again. I'll just plead with you to diversify your portfolio into disparate assets, so that no one vector of attack can leave you so impoverished you have to borrow a pair of socks so you won't be barefoot, as happened to me 15 years ago. Have some guns, goodwill, and gold so that whoever steals one of them will have to try some whole other tricks to steal any of the rest of it. Of note, I had all of that on my compound innawoods to which my sole title was free and clear of any and all encumbrances. When they got my land, they got everything but my goodwill (which is how I got the socks). If I'd of had some BTC in 2009, I'd probably be a millionaire now, if the keys didn't end up in a landfill with my computer. Despite my lack of confidence crypto will be fungible without the internet, or electricity, I have some today, just in case. Live and learn.
Regarding war, Ron Paul was just discussing yesterday a recent government survey that found that ~6% of eligible young men would sign up to fight a world war involving the US. If the native clay we sleep and breathe on was threatened with an attack, that goes up to 9%. Almost half said they're too old or disabled to even be drafted if the USA is directly attacked. That doesn't mean they can't be blown up, though.
Boomers, eh? People are pretty unhappy with our current administration, government, and aren't particularly ready to lay down their lives to preserve the status quo.
