I don't celebrate the Civil War, Lincoln, or shooting slaves. I do have plenty to give thanks for, and Thanksgiving is my favorite celebration, since I used to think it was less tainted with bizarre religious doctrines (Easter bunnies laying eggs???? Satan's Claws and Yule logs??? WT actual H?) or objectionable propaganda. Also, it's just getting together with friends and family and having a feast, which is just what celebrations oughta be IMHO, instead of all the other traditions that come with other holidays.

I will do my best to ignore the bad news about Lincoln slaughtering slaves and just enjoy feasting with family, as is a good thing. I never knew any of that. It's not part of the Thanksgiving lore I ever learned, and I bet literally not one American celebrates Lincoln having free people shot on Thanksgiving. I think we can safely feast with friends and family and give thanks for that, as Thanksgiving lore is actually about.

We don't need to be minded of bad stuff every day, or just because it's there. I'll stick to giving thanks on Thanksgiving, which I approve of, and not warn people it's all a trick. You don't have to, but I hope you can.
