I don't think I've ever seen physics more clearly misunderstood.
Regarding patents, the patent office isn't a research lab. They don't confirm patents actually work. They just take your money and file your claim. It's just a claim. It doesn't mean you can fly on carpets if you claim to have invented a flying carpet, and the patent office isn't going to check to see if your reasonable claim is true. They just check to see if what you're claiming is novel, and isn't trolling them. If your claim is obviously not true, they'd be silly to file and publish it, wasting their resources, but more importantly potentially burying in fantasy and fluff patents for functional mechanisms, decreasing the quality of the service the Patent Office provides, perhaps completely.
Regarding the mechanisms for energy production you cite, there are some problems you seem not to have considered.

First, they couldn't build any Ferris Wheel sized anything by tomorrow. But, the actual problem is that offshore windmills are killing whales. Can you imagine the ecological harm paddle wheels would do? In addition to the electromagnetic problems the windmills are causing, the big rotating wheels would add kinetic energy in the form of bonks. There are ways to use floats that can extract just as much energy without the bonking.
Geothermal energy is commercially available right now. I have been looking at a heat pump for less than $1000 that extracts thermal energy from the ground to heat or cool my home. The gummint isn't preventing anyone from using geothermal energy. But there isn't enough available to produce electricity cost effectively until you start going really deep, (you could go really wide, but that gets in peoples' way) or get near some very hot stuff nearer the surface, and there's a whole lot of people I don't want drilling holes near volcanoes. I'm ok with someone having some standards about that.
Both going really deep and near really hot things are expensive to do effectively and safely. It can be done, but there are real safety issues, and getting very deep is technically not easy, but difficult.
Magnetic motors make no sense. Generators already work by magnetism extracting the rotational energy and creating electricity from it. If you could just transform magnetism directly to electricity you wouldn't need the generator, but you'd run out of magnetic moment, because it would be transformed into electricity. And heat. Magnetism is what transforms the rotational force to electricity. It doesn't create electricity by just sitting there. It has to be moving, so some source of energy has to be provided to make it move. It can't make itself move and transform itself into electricity, because either it's being pushed by electricity and making motion, or it's being pushed kinetically to make electricity. That's why we have motors and generators. A given magnetic moment can't do both at the same time, because it's already doing one or the other. Since some energy is always lost to heat in any exchange, if you try to use electricity to make magnets move that you then use to make electricity, all you'll do is lose some of the energy each time it changes phase, and whatever input you put in would be better converted straight to electricity, because then it only changes phase once, so you'd lose less of it.

You can print your own solar panels, that don't require any metals, using graphene ink. It's just carbon, and you can print it on recycled beverage containers with an ordinary inkjet printer. This technology was patented in 2008 but MIT has just made it better.
None of these things are free energy devices. They all profess to take energy from somewhere it is - except for the magnetic motor/generator, which can only lose energy - and use it to make electricity in a known and reasonable form that takes the nature of physics into account. That's why there isn't a way to make energy without taking it from somewhere else.

It's not because there's rules that say such is so. It's because such is so that there's a law of thermodynamics about it.
Physics cannot happen without consequences for the things that happened. If you use some energy in some way, that energy comes from somewhere that it was, doing something it did, before you put it to another use. You can't create energy by wanting it. A request for energy can't get any unless you address it to a mechanism that can provide it to you. You can't ask the sun for ice because it has no mechanism to provide it. You can't take energy from someplace it isn't. There's no energy there to take.

This is magical thinking. It's not possible that something is incompatible with other actual things. Even matter and antimatter are compatible in the sense I mean, because they both exist in the same universe. We may not understand how different physical principles operate, but light cannot be incapable of existing with gravity. The two aspects of the universe are by definition self compatible, each being part of one and the same thing. Just like war and energy. However you define war, it is a suite of physical events, photons and other particles doing stuff, and these events are necessarily self compatible. How you feel about these events affecting other events isn't material to any of those events. Even if you never notice them at all they will still occur.
We can't change the universe by wishing. The universe actually works. It has to work the way it does. It can't do things one way one day, and another way another day. It doesn't pick and choose how events occur, because the properties of those events and the things involved aren't capricious. They are what they are, and those properties affect things the way they do. They can't decide to have different properties, and you can't change their properties by thinking at them. If you call something blue red, it's still blue. If you call a bunch of particles moving a certain way war, it's still a bunch of particles moving that certain way. Calling it war doesn't change anything about it.
Your opinion about the universe doesn't change the universe. It's not a magic thing. It's a real and actual thing that is what it is regardless of your thoughts on the matter. Pun serendipitous.
