This sounds an awful lot like 'If you kill your enemies, they win.' which I vehemently disagree with. Violence works. I am prepared to commit acts of violence at all times, because acts of violence could happen to me at any time. They never make an appointment. Whackos just pop out of the woodwork and start shit whenever.

Seems to work pretty well, except when they bother folks that are always prepared to dish back what they're served up. However, that doesn't seem like very much fun.

You'd have to define 'ungovernable'. I am well governed and easily governable. I manage it every day without giving it much thought. While being ungovernable sounds like fun, it's impractical when I've got to get a coat of paint on the place, get my truck fixed, and earn the costs of paint and mechanical parts. It's hard to do that when I'm dancing around a fire with other braves in warpaint. Being ungovernable brings with it the unbearable cost of being incapable of civil society, and I'm a big fan of civil society.

I think what you mean is that we're able to govern ourselves, but not to be governed by overlords, and that's a different matter entirely. That requires that we well govern ourselves, and coordinate handling affairs of common import in common, without letting overlords get their hooks into things. If that's what you mean, we have some work to do to set up mechanisms for achieving things we need done without letting other step in and do it however they want.

That's the very opposite of ungovernable. That's governing, instead of being governed.
