"Communistic countries just get rid of these people. Send them to the gulags. Kill them off to motivate other workers..."
Coincidentally I was just reading about Lysenkoism, which the USSR proclaimed as the fact of biological inheritance, denying genetics. Thousands of brilliant scientists were gulaged and executed by Stalin, because they argued about pesky facts that disproved Lysenko, and pointed out the famines and millions dying as a result of those facts. Stalin didn't like that and killed a lot of them.
Point being, that none of the martyrs to science were morons. Morons didn't know the facts, and only knew not to argue with Stalin. I think morons survived in droves in the Communist utopia of the USSR as a result.
However, as a fantastic utopiast, I am quite hopeful that morons will be more than capable of providing for themselves to an ever greater degree going forward, as technology becomes more complex, advanced, and harder to understand. The vast majority of people don't understand the vast majority of technology they use now. As it becomes so advanced it runs itself, eventually no one will understand it and we'll all be equally incompetent morons relative to the complexity of technology.
But, we'll own automated means of production that AI will manage for us. All we will have to do is enjoy the benefits of that automation, morons one and all. We just have to get over this little hump of evil psychopathic overlords hell bent on enslaving us all and genociding us at will, then continuing to disperse and develop decentralized means of production nominal to provide for our every whim, and automate it all with personally owned AI.
Sounds a bit daunting, but that's what's going to happen. Relative to the problems we need to solve, even the smartest of us are morons. And for those that literally cannot tie shoes, the sad fact is that evolution is still in operation, as it always will be.
Thanks!
