What if it's not ayliums at all, but ourselves that have previously left Earth and continued to advance technologically, availed of almost infinite resources, and seeking to free our brethren on Earth, our original homeland, from their enslavement to psychopaths without the retardation of brutal war?

This was one of the narratives that came out of the early rumors of Area 51. Ike was supposed to have met with representatives that offered spiritual counseling in exchange for retiring nukes. Ike is said to have scoffed, and since we are supposed to be in communications with a couple species of 'greys', tall and small, who are far less altruistic.

I don't think it matters unless the gentle offer of spiritual guidance becomes insistence and challenges the psychopathic overlords. I don't think that will happen because our inevitable progress will eventually lead to our freedom from overlords and gaining the ability to colonize space again.

Until then we suffer, and the increasing desperation of overlords becomes ever more apparent as they dramatically shift the overton window as fast as they can towards some kind of GMO slave race they can lord over permanently. I don't think we're buying in as a species, and them as do simply will cease to matter in a few decades as they die out from their mental inadequacies and the consequences of that.
