The day I had a heart attack, a neighbor and good friend had a shunt pop in his head. I had the good fortune to call and chase down an ambulance that routed me to lifesaving care, while Tom laid unconscious on his floor for a day, and eventually died. I did my best to take care of his dog Bear, an utterly irrepressible Springer Spaniel, but after the third time it escaped from the truck and savagely attacked a neighbor's turkey I had to admit defeat, and hand Bear over to the local adoption service, where a waiting list snapped Bear up within a day. Springer Spaniels are highly desirable, for all the reasons I could not provide the care necessary to such a high energy animal.

I hope you come to better success than did I. Fortunately I did not have to provide veterinary care for the turkey, because the owner said he'd just eat it, and Bear suffered no injuries in his vicious attack on the hapless bird, but you've a deeper row to hoe than I did.
