On both sides of the Ukrainian border, Zoomers are kitting up and staging massive fights with Skinheads, or Offniks, perhaps in response to something from that vector. I don't know. Ukraine's Progroshi claims they fight football fans and immigrants. Russian cops have been reporting since Feb. 20, 2023 the arrests of hundreds of kids at a time, in Moscow, St. Petersberg, and other urban centers, in the effort to squelch this movement.
Ukraine too is experiencing the same explosion of youth violence, reported in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Poltava, Kremenchuk, Lutsk, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia, as well as Odesa, with kids there adopting the same spider from the Hunter X Hunter anime from a decade ago. Apparently the number four sounds like the word for death in Japanese, and that seems to be the significance of it on the spider from the anime. However, the kids are using numbers from 1 to 13 (at least), so there is some other significance of the numbers to them.
As I only learned about this hours ago, I have yet to read any statement from the people in the subculture itself. Neither have I run across any information related to this movement prior to the 20th, only a week ago. This despite the anime the iconography comes from being a decade old (and something I've never seen). Anyone with more information about PMC Ryodan (or PVC Redan, depending on which side of the border they're on) or the significance of the iconography that shares it here will really help me to understand what's going on with kids on both sides of the Ukrainian border, in two countries at war, seemingly creating a pan-slavic movement in the last week.
Of course both Ukraine and Russia are certain the other side is responsible for destabilizing their youth. Given the sudden rise of this subculture (or perhaps my only now learning of it), there may well be some kind of spooky instigation going on. Given that it's on both sides of the border doesn't indicate either Russia or Ukraine is behind it, particularly since both sides are trying to quash it. To me that suggests it's organic, and not being prompted by spooks from any countries with dogs of war in the fight.
It immediately occurs to me that kids with spiders on their backs seem unlikely to shoot at each other, if they have anything to say about it. Right now military forces on both sides seem to be largely much older, in their 20s and 30s on up. Obviously, once their ranks are depleted in the conflict, these kids are next. From what I have ascertained, PMC Ryodan are almost all minors, not yet of military age.
We'll see how that works out.
