Alcatraz Island is located about 2.01km offshore from San Francisco bay. It's a 15 ~ 20 minutes ride.

Has an abandoned Federal prison, one of the oldest lighthouses on the West Coast of the United States, and a military fortification.

On our last trip to San Francisco, we got the Alcatraz Island Ticket and went by ferry boat there. It was a very nice ride with great views of Golden Gate and Alcatraz Island.

You can get out the boat and visit the Alcatraz facility.
