I have been wanting to go to the Christmas Market in Bremen. But it has been raining every Friday for the past few weeks. And yesterday, the weather was just perfect. The Christmas Market is just 2 stops from my school. On Fridays my class usually ended at around 6pm, but luckily yesterday my lecturer was not in the mood to teach (he probably can sense that his students are not in the mood too). So class ended early and I headed to the Christmas market. It was around 4pm and I thought it was too early for any food or drinks.So I decided to just stroll around the Christmas market.

Often times when I walk alone, I walk very fast. So this time I made sure that I walk very very slowly, stopping at every stall and seeing what they offer.

What I like about the Christmas market is definitely the Christmas decorations. Since I can’t decorate my room, the only way I can feel like it’s Christmas is by looking at these decorations and lights at the market.

As it gets darker, the crowd gets bigger. As I look around, I realized that everyone comes either with their family or with their friend. That's when I thought to myself "Wooo I have never felt so alone in a large crowd before".

Walking alone has it pros. I don’t have to worry about getting separated from the group because I don’t have one and I can stop to admire things whenever I want. However, as much as I enjoy strolling around the Christmas Market alone, deep down inside I felt lonely. You know that feeling when you like something so much that you want to share it with your loved ones? That’s exactly how I felt. Knowing that my family loves Christmas decorations as much as I do, I really wished they are there with me.

That’s when Hans decided to join me! First, we shared a bowl of Champignon together. A simple meal just tastes better when you have a companion.

After having our dinner, Hans and I walked around the Christmas market again. And look who we found! Santa Claus. Santa was busy taking pictures with small kids and Hans didn't want to miss the fun. So he insisted on having a picture taken with Santa.

And then, we saw a Ferris Wheel from afar. Guess what, Hans wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel. He was so excited that he actually ran for it. And left me behind.

After that, we continued to walk around. We also stopped to enjoy some performances. Nothing feels more Christmassy than Christmas instrumental songs.

This guy is the reason why I really want to learn how to play the harp. He was at the Christmas Market last year and I have fallen in love with the sound. But a harp is so expensive so I can only wish that Santa will give me one :D

As for the stalls, the one that really catches my eyes is the stall selling "potions". I think they are fruit wines but they really look like magical potions.

As the night gets deeper (it was only 6pm), it also gets colder. So since we have seen everything the market has to offer, we decided to call it a night and go our separate ways.

I definitely had a great time at the Christmas market, thanks to Hans. Next time you feel lonely, invite Hans. I'm sure he will be happy to accompany you.
