Minergate...use any old computer to try out mining cryptocurrencies.

I ran across this website the other day. You sign up with an email and then download the mining software. (This software may set of alarm bells with your virus protection.) After installing, you simply start it up, and the program detects your hardware and calculates the coin you will best profit from on that computer. As coin prices fluctuate, it may switch to a new coin as it becomes more profitable.

I have run it in the background now for about 1 week and have mined almost 2 dollars worth of Monero coins. The website has a built in wallet to store your coins until you want to send them to your personal wallet or favorite exchange.

It is not gonna make you rich, but will teach you the basics of mining.
