Teacher Grading
you were called to grade all the teachers that ever taught you, grading them on a scale of one to ten. Who will be the worst teacher? And who will be the best? And why? Please share with us!
If we are all asked one after the other to tell a tale about our teachers we will say a lot. Teachers as their roles have so much impact on their subjects' lives. These include character/behavior, sense of reasoning, intelligence, smartness, decorum, fashion sense, etc.
I had a lot of teachers, qualified, exposed, and experienced sets of humans To look up to. Then we knew all their abilities and a name that suits them as well.
During my stay in high school, I never had a favorite teacher or worse, Strange right?
The reason was that I wasn't close to any of them and I didn't want to be. Unlike my classmates, they had a good relationship with my teachers but my case was Different.
Hence I couldn't grade my teachers till after graduation. After graduation, I started reminiscing about my days, months, and years in School. I thought about My classes, the different events that occurred, I thought about my Friends, and our times together and then I thought About my teachers.
My maths Teacher was a good man but he had temper issues. Temperance is a thing that needs to be managed properly, especially in a social space like school, and also because of the set of people you are dealing with.
As a teacher, you are a parent and parents rely solely on you to take proper care of their wards daily. It is not a bad idea to punish a child, but punishing a child should be done with a controlled temper.
He was a stammerer, he had a hot temper, a terrible one at that. Anything he sees around he could use on a child regardless of the effect. Well, he got into trouble a couple of times and his job was at stake.
I Remembered once he pounced on me, an innocent victim then. Even when my classmates tried telling him that I wasn't the culprit, he never Listened. The culprit himself surrendered but the man was still bent on punishing me.
I received hot blows on my cheeks before I could even Wink, and then he got a broom and landed it on me.
I ran out of the class and he pursued me to the toilet. Well, I locked Myself there. After the heat, I came back and he pursued me out of his class. Everyone frowned at him including the principal but he never showed remorse for it.
It was a total turn-off for me❌. I wasn't the only culprit of his act but then that was his lifestyle.
I would give my Maths Teacher 3
The Worst teacher I had was my further maths teacher. He wasn't a teacher at all and he didn't last long there.
He never taught, he came to complete his scheme of work, get his salary and go. He wasn't concerned if you had pure knowledge of everything he taught.
He skipped his periods and when he comes, he would want to cover everything a day.
I would give him a 1. I never liked him and he was into girls too.
Mr Lawrence was my best Teacher, he taught my Maths in Jss3, and I was flying in the subject because he was detailed, slow and steady.
He became my Geography Teacher from Ss1-3, Although I dropped Geography in Ss2. The man was good, extra-qualified, exposed, detailed and time conscious.
He made me love math and made it so simple. The funniest thing was that he was a very strange person. From his looks you would flee, he didn't socialize with other teachers, he was always calm and gentle.
He was strict no doubt and his favorite quote was always" the stubborn chicken would always find itself in a pot of soup boiling".
Well I wasn't close to him but from a distance I could tell he was good. I think it was because of his physical Appearance I never got close to him.
Me Lawrence was good and the year I graduated he won the best teacher of the year.
When I wrote my Exams(Waec) He would come around me but would not tell me the answer. He would say "look before you leap" and he would pass😂😂😂.
That's some height of frustration, but if I had stayed any longer, I would have built a beautiful student and teacher relationship with him.
By the way, Teachers Deserve a lot of accolades. It's not easy to mold someone's child for the parent. They are the most honorable professions although they are paid less.
