The Asuu strike has left so many students on the streets. Most of them become liabilities to their parents especially now that the cost of living is on the high side. Unfortunately, the strike happens to be indefinite leaving students stranded as there's little or no hope of federal universities in Nigeria. A whole lot of time is spent in school as courses of 4-5 years are being finished at 6 years.

Students are frustrated as their time, money, resources are kept hanging with no hope of employment when they finally finish school. There are thousands of graduates roaming the streets of the country without jobs to earn a living. This has caused an increase in armed robbery and internet fraud etc.

Nevertheless, we can't ignore the positive effect that this strike has left on the youths. The strike has led to self-discovery as it has unleashed so much hidden potential and talent in most students.

A good percentage of students who are in tertiary school don't know the reason why they are in school.
Every year thousands of students troop into the JAMB office in quest for admission into the universities.

Most of them go to school for negative reasons like peer pressure, to feel among, to find husbands or wives, to get exposed and make new friends, to get away from their parents, or to break family records as the first to go to higher institutions.
All these and many more are the reasons why most students get into tertiary institutions. Why won't the streets be full of jobless graduates when a greater percentage of graduates are carrying certificates that they can't defend.

The Asuu strike has brought a lot of self-discovery in the sense that aspiring petroleum engineers, medical doctors, mechanical engineers and the rest of the high ranked professions are now excellent content writers, business tycoons, fashion designers, entrepreneurs etc.

A lot of students have discovered their real selves, occupations that will be so profitable for them. Students have also been able to make a lot of money, and create sources of stable income. This Asuu strike has driven so many youths into productivity, especially in this digital world where more money can be made, stress-free and effortlessly in the comfort of their homes.

Inasmuch as this ongoing strike is frustrating, I feel it has helped a lot. Lazy Nigerian youths have now become productive Nigerian youths. Suffice me to say that the ASUU strike is a necessary evil.
