Central government cuts GST on electric vehicles. The GST counselling meeting chaired by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on saturday has reduced the GST rate on electric vehicles from 12% to 5% and also 18 to 5% on EV Chargers from 1st August 2019.
Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced tax cuts to boost electric vehicles while presenting the budget on July 5.
