Anyone who thinks that great writers or great composers possess some particularly rare gift that allows them to write or compose something fantastic in one sitting is far from the reality of the situation.
John Rzeznik the Goo Goo dolls frontman has a fantastic quote that lines up exactly to with what you are suggesting.
He rather famously said:
"Songwriting is ninety-nine percent perspiration rather than just pure inspiration."
I love that quote, immediately sets the tone for anyone that thinks song writing is easy.
He did however also say that 'Iris' was a gift from God and just plain easy, so sometimes artists get lucky lol :)
Imagine what life would be like if we couldn't make mistakes, or if we always had to be sure we were on the right path?
We would never take a step without being absolutely certain it was the right one...
I know lots of people like this, borderline paralyzed with the fear of doing something wrong or what someone might say about them if them do - They are hard to help!
